Whereas, on October 22, 1991, the city council for the City of Bristol, Virginia by ordinance granted a 15-year franchise agreement to Sammons Communications, Inc.; and

Whereas, the city council for the City of Bristol, Virginia by resolution granted the transfer of said agreement to Charter Communications, LLC d/b/a Charter Communications to operate a cable television system inside the city; and

Whereas, the city council for the City of Bristol, Virginia has twice either amended, renamed and/or granted extensions to the franchise agreement; and

Whereas, the city council for the City of Bristol, Virginia desires to adopt a new franchise agreement between the city and Charter Communications, thereby extending its terms for a period of ten years from the effective date of this ordinance.

Now therefore, be it ordained by the city council for the City of Bristol, Virginia that the franchise agreement attached hereto and marked Exhibit A granting to Charter Communications, LLC d/b/a Charter Communications, a non-exclusive franchise to own, operate and maintain a cable television system in the City of Bristol, Virginia is hereby adopted.
